N: Nirvana, Sinful Colors

Hey there!  I'm a little late this week because I've been stuck at work, with no time to post.  This week's N mani is featuring a work-safe color, Nirvana by Sinful Colors.

Here's a swatch.  Two coats with IMN out the door top coat.

The label says this is a matte polish, but it dries shiny. I waited 10 minutes to see if it would turn matte, but it did not.  Maybe it's a mislabel?

I added glitter to one accent nail, to keep it interesting yet understated.  This is Rockets Red Glare from Orly.  I love how this is a true red glitter.

Above is before top coat, and I broke my middle finger nail hauling my printer up and down the stairs trying to figure out the router situation last week.  Then my index fingernail cracked yesterday. I don't know how, I just looked down and there was this huge crack.  So I'll just have to deal with short nails for a little while.

Below is the glitter with top coat.  I love red and brown together!

We finally got moving along in the bedroom again. I am sore from all the squatting and bending over. I think I'm out of shape!

Well below is the foyer looking into the bedroom. If you remember this floor had that awful blue slate that we chiseled up.

And here is the bedroom. The floor is completely covered, but we are still far from finished. I still have to install shoe molding and fix the baseboards and windowsills.

If you are just tuning in, click back to see the progress.  The purple walls and dirty carpet seem like a distant memory now.

I have to work all weekend so I definitely will not be posting until next Wednesday, hopefully.  I'm having a hard time keeping up this year...  I do miss reading all the nail blogs out there.  So that is it for now.

  1. I'm not into Nirvana much but that red glitter is gorgeous! A true red glitter indeed!

Wow, your bedroom looks honestly stunning now! That wooden floor looks amazing, even if there was not much light in the room when you took the picture! ^^ What a progress, my dear!

Sorry that you'll have to work on the weekend... I hope to see you soon!

  2. That bedroom! Wow!!!

Yeah that does not look very matte! Although I really like that color shiny. And it looks great with RRG as an accent! Love it!

  3. Hey, that renovation is coming along beautifully! Love the floor and the light of your walls. Lovely. Nurse that back. You'll need a strong one to finish up. ;)

    As for the mani...

What I can I SAY? You've made your case and I'm now an acolyte: brown and red is so right on. It sings. In an understated and grown up way. Stunning.

And who knew that SC had such a fabulous brown? Reminds me of one of my butterLONDON's, can't recall which right off the cuff.

Love the post and pics, Jenny! <3

Your bedroom looks gorgeous! I'm gonna have a same kind of project ahead of me, but instead of bedroom it's the whole house LOL

    1. Yes, well we are doing the entire first floor actually... just one room at a time. I don't know how I'm going to get through it all.

Thank you for the compliment Ria!

Bedroom looks great - love the floor. I'm putting off re-doing the floor in my living room, but seeing your progress is getting me inspired again.

    1. Thank you AMM! We are doing the living room too, I put this project off for nine years! I can understand it is a lot of work and expensive too.

    1. Yeah I thought about putting a matte topcoat on but decided against it. I wasn't in the mood, oh well. Glad you like the glitter, it is really a nice red. Your nails are really long, it must have been a bad break? I hope not! Thanks Simona.

  13. Strange that they call this a matte, but either way the color is really beautiful and also your floor looks very pretty!

  14. I recently discovered that Sinful has a "matte" series, but here in Italy it's so hard to find them! If I'll ever see this one, I'll keep in mind that it's not matte at all! :D
Anyway, it looks gorgeous with the Orly glitter polish on your ring nail. :)

  15. Nice review. I almost purchased Matte Nirvana. I'm glad I didn't. I do love the regular formula Nirvana and look forward to mattifying it ^__^
Your room is shaping up nicely.

    1. Thanks Gini!! I wonder if SC was just sticking a label on and not checking the formula, since three of us experienced the same thing... so weird!
