P: Peaceful Opposition, Orly

Hey there! Quick ABC challenge post today. Here is Peaceful Opposition, by Orly, from the 2013 Hope and Freedom collection.  A sheer white polish with silver hex and square glitters.  The formula doesn't level out very well so it looks a bit streaky but that's the norm for these milky sheers. I just did one coat under a top coat. Super fast mani with no cuticle clean up. Gotta love that.

How was your Monday?

I've actually worn today's manicure a few times.  It's become a staple work mani for me.  Nubar's White Polka Dot is the glitter in between layers of Care to Danse?.   Clean looking and delicate.

OPI's Pirouette my Whistle is a similar glitter to White Polka Dot but it has added silver glitter.  Which you can use if you don't have White Polka Dot.

Color Club - Milky White Base Coat

Got yellow nails because your a polish maniac like me?

My naked nails, stained...

Sometimes I like to wear sheers but my yellow tips show through and they look, gross. Well, I tried Color Club's Milky White base coat and its not too bad. If your nails are white it will make them really white. Mine are yellow at the tips and white at the tops, so at the tips the effect is lessened, but overall its an improvement. Also, the whitening effect is way more apparent in sunlight than it is indoors.





Below is a demo of how Milky White looks against a bare nail and under Deborah Lippmann's Baby Love, a sheer pink.

The package also says it will also help smooth out the nail and that using their Vivid top coat will whithen and brighten the overall look even more.  I'm not totally blown away with this base coat, but my nails are whiter. (I did not try the Vivid top coat). What do you think?

Essence - Galaelectric

Hey there ladies!

I was planning on layering this polish over a dark color, but I was in the mood for something light and sheer.  Sooooo, Galaelectric is what I reached for, a sheer base with strong blue shimmer duochrome that is mostly blue, but at a sharp angle, flashes pink.  Three will probably cover the nail line but liked it sheer so I stopped at two.  I love the name GALA-elecTRIC!

Once and a while this polish pops up on eBay.  Essence's "holografics" line was out last fall in limited amounts.  The formula was excellent, super smooth.  There something about shimmers that make them really smooth.  I hope they re-release this, because it is way awesome!
